According to the National Park Service, Great Smoky Mountains National Park is the most visited national park in America. Established in 1934, the park is located on the border between North Carolina and Tennessee and encompasses over 500 thousand acres. Often called the “Smokies,” this mountainous region birthed southern Appalachian mountain culture.

Townsend, Tennessee is located just on the edge of the park, providing easy access to the wildlife and natural beauty of the area. We see many visitors who find a place to stay in Townsend and make day-trips to the park for activities such as waterfall walks and wildlife viewing.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.18.0″ _module_preset=”default” column_structure=”1_4,1_4,1_4,1_4″][et_pb_column _builder_version=”4.18.0″ _module_preset=”default” type=”1_4″][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.18.0″ _module_preset=”default” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″]

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column _builder_version=”4.18.0″ _module_preset=”default” type=”1_4″][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.18.0″ _module_preset=”default” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″ locked=”off”]

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column _builder_version=”4.18.0″ _module_preset=”default” type=”1_4″][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.18.0″ _module_preset=”default” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″ locked=”off”]

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column _builder_version=”4.18.0″ _module_preset=”default” type=”1_4″][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.18.0″ _module_preset=”default” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″ locked=”off”]

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.18.0″ _module_preset=”default” column_structure=”1_2,1_2″][et_pb_column _builder_version=”4.18.0″ _module_preset=”default” type=”1_2″][et_pb_blurb title=”Cades Cove” image=”https://exploretownsend.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/Cades-Cove-Cabin.jpg” _builder_version=”4.18.0″ _module_preset=”default” alt=”Cades Cove Cabin” title_text=”Cades Cove Cabin” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″ border_radii_image=”on|8px|8px|8px|8px” url=”https://exploretownsend.com/cades-cove/” link_option_url=”https://exploretownsend.com/cades-cove/”]

Cades Cove is one of the most popular park destinations and offers the opportunity to see lots of wildlife.
